#4 Kōridashi

Grassy | Gentle | Refreshing

Kōridashi is a traditional Japanese preparation method. Especially with fine shade teas like our Gyokuro Hiki, the slow melting of the ice brings out particularly fine flavors.

You need:

  • 2 tsp Gyokuro (or other green tea)
  • 200 g ice
  • Lime juice (to taste)

Here’s how:

  1. Place Ice cubes or crushed ice in a bowl.
  2. Pour loose green tea on top and wait until the ice is completely melted.
  3. Drink the green tea pure, dilute it further with water or add some lime juice – just as you like.

Just try this method of preparation with our Gyokuro Hiki or Sencha Fukuyju. It’s worth it – promised!
