Matcha: radiant green pleasure
The Japanese Matcha “Ujicha” is grown in the district of Uji. The production of matcha has a long tradition in the region: Matcha is said to have been grown here for the first time at the end of the 16th century. The conditions are optimal: calcium-rich soils, altitudes of 250 m and frequent ground fog are a guarantee of excellent quality.
This top quality matcha tastes sweet, fruity and is particularly aromatic.
Matcha is enjoyed in small quantities. Enjoy!
Matcha is a type of green tea popular in Japan for centuries, made from finely ground, powdered tea leaves. Matcha culture has a long tradition in Japan and remains an important part of the country’s cultural heritage. Matcha is not only enjoyed as a beverage, but also used as an ingredient in many dishes such as ice cream, cakes and sweets. The preparation of matcha requires a special technique and is often performed in special tea rooms known as “chashitsu”.
The tea ceremony with Matcha is an important part of Japanese culture and is often performed by geishas and other traditional artists. It emphasizes the importance of mindfulness and respect and is often considered a type of spiritual practice.
Our Matcha comes sustainably packaged in a jar to you. The rubber ring is made of natural rubber and the glass is dishwasher safe. So you can easily clean and recycle the glass. The glass was also made in Germany. Short transport routes are good for the carbon footprint.
Be sure to store your matcha in a cool place, away from light, so that the full flavor is retained for as long as possible. We recommend storage in the refrigerator, as it provides optimal conditions for our green hero.

… and this is how it’s getting delicious
Making matcha yourself is not that difficult. Here’s how:
- Take the matcha spoon and put 1 – 2 tips of the tea directly into the bowl
- Heat approx. 70 ml water to 80 – 90 °C
- Pour a small amount of water directly into the bowl and stir the mixture using the matcha whisk until smooth
- Pour in the remaining water and whisk the matcha with the matcha whisk in a Z-shaped motion until frothy. This may take 1 to 2 minutes
Matcha is enjoyed in small quantities. Enjoy!
