Our Gunpowder “Temple of Heaven” is milder than most other Gunpowders. It is a true work of art with its small, tightly rolled beads! The special shape is achieved by drying in rotating drums. And we have to say, yes, it almost looks like gunpowder. In China, gunpowder is called “zhū chá” (pearl tea).
The oxidation of the green tea is interrupted here by means of panfiring, i.e. heating in iron pans.
Traditionally, the first infusion of gunpowder is not drunk, as it is quite tangy. As of the second infusion, it becomes much milder. The best thing to do is to try both.
And while you’re at it, try our Gunpowder with fine Nana mint or honey. Very tasty!
